I Am Still Here

Lester is doing really well. He is standing up for longer periods of time and walking a few steps before getting tired and sitting down. He had pneumonia and one night I thought I had lost him. I am still suctioning him several times a day. He nurses his mom twice a day and I bottle feed him her milk the other times.Hopefully he will soon be well and back with his mom and brother. No more goat babies. I think the goats are on strike. They want to see how long they can keep me up at night checking butts. Wouldn't surprise me if they each had wagers going.
Had a severe thunderstorm last night. Power went off a couple of times and of course the goats had to fight over who got which stall or goat house. I was out in the lighting and pouring rain moving goats. Since we have some goats of William's friend there is play ground scuffles over who is the queen. Buttons is so huge she has to have her own stall but  Brownie and Chicken (she is afraid of everything) thought they needed to cuddle with Buttons till the storm passed over. Needless to say it was a wet long night leaving me smelling like a wet goat.
I have been cleaning out and straightening the pantry. Can actually see what I have in there without moving things. That hasn't been possible in awhile. Been cooking and eating things from the freezer. Trying to get it empty for summer veggies that will hopefully be growing. Also been going through my herbs and spices. Didn't realize I had so much left. I had dried alot but also sold a bunch. I am working on a seed list of more herbs. I really want a large herb garden this year, I cannot believe the yellow bell bushes are blooming, all of the daffodils in the yard are blooming. My crocus and tulips are out of the ground and will be blooming soon. My butterfly bush already has leaves sprouting up all over it. Spring is going to come whether I want it to or not. I am still holding off planting things except cold crops because I know there will be a cold spell just waiting to come and wipe everything out. Things have been busy around the homestead but its just everyday busy. Nothing new or exciting going on. All of my blog friends and neighbor seem to be enjoying each day. I have been popping in to visit when I have a few minutes. Love catching up on your news! Wishing you a very quiet, relaxing evening and as always.... don't forget to count those blessings!!

I'm so glad to read that Lester is doing well. The picture of him laying with his little head on the rolled up towel was adorable. Glad to see that everything is going well for you.

Glad you are doing okay after that storm... I was worried about you since your area had a rough time.

Glad Lester is doing okay --and gradually getting better. I know you have had your hands full recently with all of your babies...

Take care, Peggy.
Hugs,
Betsy

Do wet goats smell like wet dogs?

It must be nice for you thinking about your summer planting, we are still very cold, -20 this morning and it snowed again overnight and it's supposed to snow about a foot on the weekend, but we'll see if that happens.

I'm so happy for you that Lester is getting better and if anyone can help him along it would be you.
