Love Hungered Goat!

I love my goats but I am almost to the point of murdering my buck Robby. He has taken rut season to a whole new and weird level! We let him breed Buttons and Mammy but made sure to move Lil Vicki to a different pen with her mom Olivia. Breeding 2 goats wasn't enough for him. Oh no, he has to go and try to breed Mary the sheep so we moved her. We also moved him a dozen times but he climbs the fence, jumps, the fence, rams the gate, whatever it takes to get back to the main goat pen. Tinker, the guardian dog is in season and believe it or not Robby is trying to mount her!!! We moved Robby to another pen and Tinker to a different pen and there was Robby trying to mount Bella, the Pyrenees and she isn't even in season. We move Bella out of his pen and what do I find him doing ???? Peeing on his face and trying to entice one of the hens to be his girlfriend. When I go into the pens to feed or water he rears up on his hind legs while I am around his girls. Even though he isn't in the pen with them he doesn't want me near them either. And Lord help me when I go into his pen. He wants to rub his stinky self all over me so I smell like a stinky goat all day. He also tries to block the gate to keep me from leaving. Snorts at me and then starts rubbing his head on my leg making more stink on my clothes. I have never in all the years we have had goats had such a "horny" buck! I so want to get rid of him but he is William's pet and he wants to keep him. Robby is a loving, sweet goat when he isn't in rut. This is his season to make love and you would think he had swallowed a bottle of Viagra. Something tells me its going to be a looong fall or goat hunting season will be opening soon.

It sounds like it's time for a pair of scissors, or two bricks or whatever to "fix" the issue once and for all. PS The bricks don't hurt at all, unless you get your thumbs between them.

I understand, been there! But we no longer have to deal with our bucks in rut season since we don't have goats anymore.

Lol. Is Robby related to my Gobo? Gobo is so bad this year, he has tried it on with everything. He had 5 ladies, so why he is feeling so deprived, I can't say. He keep trying to mount both our male and female dogs. Our female dog is in heat, and she acts likes she likes Gobo as much as he does her! I had the post lady say she would not deliver my mail anymore during this rut as he keeps rubbing his stinky face all over her. Trying to keep him penned is just not happened. I had to drag him out of the sheep field, and so at the moment he isn't allowed out of the barn. I had the very kind offer from friends to take him for a while to give me a break, but I'm slightly scared they won't be friends too much longer after they have to put up with him.

Here is to a short lived rut!

Well, a goat with a good libido is something to be proud of, but oh my! I don't think I'd be able to take it as well as you do. I hate, hate, HATE our Nigerian Dwarf buck. He's going to be sold ASAP....not only is he a bugger, but we really can't use him any longer and need another line brought in.

We had to put an electric fence up to keep the goats seperated here. Teddy is a big boy but respects that fence. We wont breed until late November. No frozen baby ears! It sounds like Robey is very testosterone filled.
